Once Again, Social Media May Get Trump Elected

Much has been said in recent weeks about President Trump’s poll numbers and there are theories that Joe Biden, his presumptive Democrat challenger, can all but sit quietly in his basement for the next few months before he wins the White House and brings Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s ‘Squad’ with him. (#Squadgoals)

But just like in 2016, Democrats have a social media problem. This time, however, it is not “Russian Bots” or Trump’s savvy social media team playing a major role. Social media posts that show the lawlessness and warlike conditions in cities like Portland offer voters irrefutable evidence that Democrat leaders in major cities have lost all control.

Buck Sexton, the host of “The Buck Sexton Show,” on Thursday pointed out that the mainstream media, which is merely an arm of the Democrat Party, have been working overtime to pretend that Portland is on fire because of Trump and his decision to send in federal troops.

Democrats are intent on sticking to this narrative. Even when protesters are seen rioting and lighting fires, they justify these actions as a response to police injustices.

There's no better example than the political disaster that unfolded in Portland last night when the city's mayor, Ted Wheeler, joined these peaceniks. He was booed, called a coward and told to resign throughout but even though he was thoroughly shunned, he kept trying to bow that knee. At one point, after being exposed to tear gas, he stunningly said, “It’s an egregious overreaction on the part of the federal officers…it’s made people more angry. This is not a de-escalation strategy. This is flat-out urban warfare, and it’s been brought on this country by the president of the United States, and it’s got to stop now.”

Apparently he didn't see the bottles that were apparently thrown at him and the fire that was lit outside the city's justice center. A riot was also declared a short time after his security detail clashed with protesters as he was rushed into a building. (But OK, let's stick with that narrative, Ted, it's playing well.)

“I’m going to keep saying it,” Sexton said. “They’re [the protesters] all going to vote for Biden if they vote at all. They all support Democrat policies. They adhere to the beliefs of mainstream, left-wing American ideology.”

He said there is lawlessness in Portland and the mayor wants you to believe that it was an overreaction by federal law enforcement.

Sexton said the media is trying to push a narrative that is simply false. The protesters in Portland are not peaceful, and a simple scan through Twitter shows the city’s downtown that looks like a scene out of “Mad Max.”

“I’m looking at this and saying it’s amazing that any honest person, any intelligent human being could have a problem with what Trump is doing right now,” Sexton said.

If not for social media, voters would be under the impression that Trump is unfairly flexing his muscles on peaceful protests, but social media has fully debunked that theory. Biden will eventually have to emerge from his basement and address these issues. Whose side is he on? And then the real campaign will begin.
